Coalition on Addictions: A PreventEd Speaker Series

Time

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Coalition on Addictions is a monthly event that provides a forum for networking, learning, and advocacy regarding the use and misuse of alcohol and other drugs. Participation is open to anyone interested in deepening their understanding of the challenges and opportunities in addressing substance use.

This month’s Coalition on Addictions topic is, “Community Coalitions: Making Change from the Ground Up,” by Kristin Bengtson, Associate Director of Community Strategy at PreventEd, and Kim Sherony, Project Coordinator with the All In Clayton Coalition.

The Prevention Resource Center (PRC) at PreventEd works with coalitions to address substance use in their local areas by providing technical assistance, training, resources, and education about substance use awareness. In this presentation, Kristin Bengtson will further discuss what community coalitions are, and how to form a coalition. Then, Kimberly Sherony with the All In Clayton Coalition will share some examples of their coalition’s work in the community.

One CEU contact hour certificate is available for $5.00. Individuals holding a CHES/MCHES certification can earn one CECH for $5.00.

This month’s COA will be a webinar hosted on Zoom. Attendees are welcome to join this virtual meeting at 11:45am for networking. The presentation will begin at 12pm. Click here to register.
