PreventEd’s Certified Peer Specialist Team will be at our mobile unit at the St. Clair Branch of the Scenic Regional Library from May 1-May 8! The mobile unit will be staffed during normal business hours for anyone who would like to speak with a Certified Peer Specialist, access Medication-Assisted Treatment, get naloxone, or learn more about what we do. Services will be available on a walk-in basis, with no appointment necessary.
Peer Support services can effectively extend the reach of treatment beyond the clinical setting into the everyday environment of those seeking a successful, sustained recovery process.
Certified Peer Specialists are people who have been successful in the recovery process who help others experiencing similar situations. Through shared understanding, respect, and mutual empowerment, peer support workers help people become and stay engaged in the recovery process and reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
