This training will be hosted in a hybrid format with both in-person and Zoom options to attend. While the training is free to attend, we are asking all attendees to please register below.


This month’s PreventEd Speaker Series topic is “Piecing it Together: Helping Youth Stay Safe from Suicide” by Elizabeth Makulec with KUTO.

Be a stronger link in supporting the emotional safety of the young people in your life. This presentation features the public health approach in preventing youth suicide and highlight skills that can save young lives.

Elizabeth Makulec has been working in the field of suicide prevention since 1994.  She is a graduate of the CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control’s PREVENT Institute, a member of the Missouri Suicide Prevention Network and partners with the Missouri Institute of Mental Health to advance suicide prevention efforts across the state.  She has 25 years-experience in the field of youth development, mental health advocacy and prevention skills training. Ms. Makulec is a Master Trainer of ASIST, CALM, QPR, and safeTALK suicide prevention models, and an instructor of Adult, Youth, and teen Mental Health First Aid.

Attendees are welcome to join this meeting at 11:30 for lunch and networking. The presentation will begin at 12pm. Please contact Stacie Zellin with questions.
