This training will be hosted in a hybrid format with both in-person and Zoom options to attend. While the training is free to attend, we are asking all attendees to please register below.


This month’s topic is “Local, State, and National Drug Trends,” by DEA Special Agent Ryan Lawyer.

In this presentation, Special Agent (SA) Ryan Lawyer will discuss drug trends and related topics that are being observed and/or addressed by the DEA on local, state, and national levels, including the prevalence of counterfeit pills and the implications regarding Missouri’s new adult-use cannabis laws.

SA Lawyer is currently assigned to the DEA St. Louis Division Tactical Diversion Squad where he investigates criminal violations of the Controlled Substance Act with specific emphasis geared towards the diversion of pharmaceutical controlled substance and listed chemicals. SA Lawyer shares his unique expertise about drug trends and emerging threats with community coalitions, civic leaders, state, local, and national drug prevention organizations, as well as other federal agencies to support collaborative drug prevention and education efforts.
