This month’s topic is “Substance Use-Related Calls to Missouri’s Poison Center: Trends and Unwanted Consequences in the Community” by Amanda Ruback, MSN, RN, CSPI, and Community Outreach Coordinator- Missouri Poison Center.
The Missouri Poison Center’s mission is to protect Missourians from poison incidence by providing emergency assistance and expertise, preventative education, advocacy, and research. In this presentation, Ms. Ruback will highlight the programs and services of the Missouri Poison Center, as well as discuss trends in substance use-related calls, including intentional use, misuse, and overdose. This discussion will also include an examination of some of the consequences of pediatric exposures to harmful substances, such as cannabis.
