This month’s Speaker Series topic is “Project CHERISH: Community Health worker-pharmacy led intervention to increase Engagement and Retention in Innovative Strategies of Harm reduction,” by Amy Tiemeier and Phillip Marotta.

Previous research has found that significant gaps persist in community pharmacy provision of naloxone, PrEP, and other harm reduction resources to redress the syndemics of overdose and infectious diseases among people with opioid use disorders. This presentation will provide an overview of our study which will implement a novel approach to recruitment of patients into the pharmacy and brief intervention and referral to community treatment culminating in assessment of feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary effectiveness of receiving the pharmacy-based intervention as well as barriers and facilitators to large scale implementation.

Attendees are welcome to join this meeting at 11:30 for lunch and networking. The presentation will begin at 12pm. Please contact Stacie Zellin with questions.

The Speaker Series is free to attend but registration is required:
