Dementia and Substance Use: The Impact of Nicotine and Alcohol on the Brain

Presented by Dr. Laura Bierut with the Department of Psychiatry, Washington University School of Medicine

Nicotine and alcohol are associated with brain shrinkage, effectively aging the brain prematurely. In this presentation, we will explore how decreasing or discontinuing nicotine and alcohol use can minimize the risk of dementia.
