Serving People Who Are Unhoused: What You Can Do To Help

Time

10:00 am - 11:00 am

Join us for a free resource fair featuring four expert panelists currently working to address homelessness in Franklin County and the surrounding areas. During this event, participants will learn about resources in the community, how to make referrals to those resources, and ways every individual can help, no matter a person’s job position or role in the community.

Participants will learn what’s going on in Franklin County and the surrounding areas regarding homelessness, and what barriers exist to finding stable housing. We will be highlighting how homelessness is correlated with substance use disorders and will provide information on what resources are available to address both issues, including PreventEd’s no-cost (and no insurance needed) Certified Peer Specialist Program. For more information, please email Erica Wiley at ewiley@prevented.org.

Panelists:

Terisha Friedmann – CPS, correlation between Substance Use Disorder(s) and homelessness.

Annie Foncannon- Executive Director of the Franklin County Community Resource Board, will discuss the Franklin County homelessness task force, current activities done through FCCRB, plans for the future, information for summer AND winter regarding how to help.
