This month’s topic is “Substance Use and Trauma” by Joyce Kariuki with PreventEd.

During this training, attendees will learn about ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences), the impact trauma can have on children throughout their lives, and how trauma correlates with substance use. Attendees will hear about actionable steps to take to avoid re-traumatization and help identify/refer individuals experiencing the effects of trauma.

One CEU contact hour certificate is available for $5.00.

The PreventEd Speaker Series is a networking/continuing education program for those who work in the local substance use field, as well as students and interested others.

Attendees are welcome to join this meeting at 11:30 for lunch and networking. The presentation will begin at 12pm. Please contact Stacie Zellin with questions.
