YOP Tax Credits

PreventEd’s programs meet young people where they are and understand all the challenges they face. Our evidence-informed, research-based prevention education programs teach K-12 students the skills to build positive relationships among peers, schools, and community. Our staff educate youth on maintaining healthy relationships, mitigating conflict effectively, dealing with emotions in a healthy way, and the dangers accompanying substance misuse.

PreventEd has been awarded YOP tax credits by the Missouri Department of Economic Development to support our in-school prevention education programs. With a YOP Tax Credit, you can pay less in Missouri state income tax while supporting PreventEd’s youth prevention education programs!

THINGS TO NOTE
  •  Tax credits are NOT deductions. Deductions reduce your income before taxes owed are assessed. Tax credits directly reduce the amount of tax you owe.
  • Donations given through donor-advised funds are not eligible for tax credits (i.e. Schwab Charitable Fund)
  • Tax credits are available on qualifying donations made through 3/31/2027.
  • Eligible donations may be redeemed when you file your tax return.
  • Any remaining tax credit balance can be used during the next five years.
WHAT’S NEXT?

Make your contribution of $1,000 or more to PreventEd. Be sure to indicate your desire to apply for tax credits on your donation (check or online from memo line). We will send you an acknowledgment and brief instructions on how to fill out the tax credit application.
