PreventEd is honored to present the 2021 Helen B. Madden Award to Marsha Hawkins-Hourd in appreciation of an exceptional career devoted to the treatment of substance use disorders.
Pastor Marsha Hawkins-Hourd, BS., M. Min, OWDS, MRSS, MARS, CRACD has served the recovery community in the St. Louis Metro Area for 20+ years. Pastor Marsha is the Executive Director/Founder of the Child and Family Empowerment Center. She is also the Executive Pastor of THE CHURCH (Universal).
Pastor Marsha earned a MA in Ministry with an emphasis on Teaching and Outreach from Midwest Theological Seminary, where she is currently pursuing her doctorate. She graduated with a BS from Arkansas State University. Pastor Marsha is a certified Missouri Recovery Support Specialist (MRSS), a Medication Assisted Recovery Specialist (MARS) and she holds a Certified Reciprocal Alcohol Drug Counselor. She is the Chair of the Recovery Coalition of Greater St. Louis and serves as the Board Chaplain for the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers (MCRSP).
Additionally, Pastor Hourd serves on the Missouri Department of Behavioral Health State Advisory Council, and the City of St. Louis Drug Misuse Steering Committee. She is also an instructor/facilitator for the Missouri Credentialing Board.
