This six-hour peer teaching model trains high school juniors and seniors to teach freshmen and sophomores the latest research on the effects of binge drinking on the developing teen brain.

This six-hour training prepares teens to facilitate a problem-solving process for peers in conflict.

HiSTEP (High School Taught Education Program)

A six-hour peer teaching model where teens learn to teach prevention lessons to students in grades 1-8 on such topics as: friendship, self-esteem, handling bullies, problem-solving, managing feelings, making healthy choices, and staying away from alcohol and other drugs.

Friends Help Friends

This five-hour workshop provides teens with the knowledge, skills and confidence to talk constructively to someone whose substance use or other behavior is a cause for concern.

Champions – Goin’ the Distance

This six-hour training empowers student athletes to use their influence to assist schools in preventing teen alcohol and other drug use. Coaches and parent workshops are also available.

Peer Helping

Youth learn listening and problem-solving skills and how to make referrals to adults who can help. Peer helpers can also tutor or mentor peers. Training can last from one to five days depending on the school’s goals.

Check Your Attitude

This four (or five)-lesson unit presents information on specific drugs (e.g. alcohol, tobacco/vaping, marijuana and prescription drugs).

ElevatEd

ElevatEd is a youth coalition that strives to prevent underage drinking and related substance misuse through awareness, education, and advocacy, and to create strong and healthy communities. ElevatEd meetings follow the motto of “safe space, open conversation”. We’re open to all kinds of people, ideas, perspectives, and experiences. No one is expected to be a perfect person. They just need to keep an open mind.

Elementary School

Grades K — 5

In K-5, we rarely talk about alcohol and drugs. Instead, we build life skills, like how to be a good friend, manage uncomfortable feelings, and solve problems peacefully.

Middle School

Grades 6 — 8

Middle school is a battlefield. Our lessons recognize the landmines that middle schoolers encounter each day and teach them how to navigate things like peer influence, setting/achieving goals, alcohol, and drugs in a healthy way.
