“It was very informative and I learned more about the brain and how it’s affected by substances. I’m definitely going to apply what I’ve learned in my everyday life.”

PreventEd’s Adult Assessment and Referral Program connects St. Louis area adults with the resources to make positive changes in their lives.
PreventEd counselors work with clients to determine what means of support is most appropriate for their individual circumstances and situation. PreventEd counselors can assist family members, individuals seeking treatment resources, and people looking for ongoing recovery resources.
Assessments are provided for $25, but those dealing with financial hardship can receive assessments at no cost through our partner organizations, who provide limited scholarship funding.
The Adult Assessment and Referral Program assessment process is adapted from the Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) model, engaging with clients and helping to provide motivation and information for treatment. SBIRT is a brief intervention focused on increasing insight and awareness regarding substance use and motivation toward behavior change
