From the Community to the Capitol: Navigating the Landscape of Prevention Advocacy

To move the needle on substance use prevention, we must move beyond the community and into the halls of government. This interactive workshop equips prevention professionals and volunteers with the knowledge and tools to navigate the legislative process at both the state and federal levels.

Through real-world success stories, practical simulations, and actionable strategies, attendees will explore how legislation shapes prevention efforts, learn to effectively engage with elected officials, and discover ways to advocate for policies that support healthier, safer communities. Whether new to advocacy or looking to strengthen existing skills, participants will leave with the confidence to turn their passion for prevention into meaningful policy change.

Presenters: Amber Campbell & Emily Wilkerson

This is a free, virtual training.
