Their Mission: Williams & Associates, Inc., is a St. Louis based organization providing public health education, prevention, wellness, and treatment interventions that address health disparities while promoting health equity for Black and other marginalized people.

Our Partnership: The PreventEd and Williams & Associates partnership began through the SAMSHA sponsored Missouri Opioid-Heroin Overdose Prevention and Education (MO-HOPE) Project. Both of our agencies saw an incredible opportunity to leverage our strengths, experiences, and connections to best support our communities’ needs.

One way we’ve done this is through providing Overdose Education and Naloxone (Narcan) Distribution Training to Williams & Associates. W&A received OEND training at our Olive office, learning how to correctly identify and respond to an overdose event, provide others with overdose education, and more. Williams and Associates staff and volunteers have been able to share their community connections, outreach, and trust with community members to support ongoing naloxone distribution directly to people that need it most.

This past May, PreventEd was honored to present the 2021 Service Award to Williams & Associates. Moving forward, we are thrilled to continue to find opportunities together to address substance use and support our communities’ health and well-being.
