Coalition on Addictions is a monthly event that provides a forum for networking, learning, and advocacy regarding the use and misuse of alcohol and other drugs. Participation is open to anyone interested in deepening their understanding of the challenges and opportunities in addressing substance use.
This month’s Coalition on Addictions topic is, “Addressing Behavioral Health on Transit Systems: The St. Clair County Transit District and Chestnut Health Systems Partnership” by Stacy Nonn and Emily Schwaegel. |
The transit system pilot project was launched earlier this year by Chestnut Health Systems and the St. Clair County Transit District. Chestnut Health Systems has a two-person team that provides direct services and behavioral health referrals to riders approximately 40 hours per week. Since the program launched, Chestnut staff has been able to work with dozens of clients to secure them shelter, food, treatment and other needs.
One CEU contact hour certificate is available for $5.00.
