PreventEd Speaker Series: Stimulant Overamping Education

Time

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

PreventEd’s Speaker Series is a monthly event that provides a forum for networking, learning, and advocacy regarding the use and misuse of alcohol and other drugs. Participation is open to anyone interested in deepening their understanding of the challenges and opportunities in addressing substance use.

This month’s Speaker Series topic is “Stimulant Overamping Education,” presented by Jeffrey Small. This training will provide participants with a general understanding of stimulants and prepares them with the tools to help someone during an overamping event (a stimulant overdose), including how to recognize and respond to an overamping event, how to identify physical and psychological overamping symptoms, and how to calm someone down and otherwise help de-escalate unstable situations.

Jeffrey Small is a model, actor, and two-time Emmy Award winner with a high profile 15-year career on television. Small is a St. Louis Native who anchored and reported the news at KSDK after stops in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Jeffrey is a consultant with the State Opioid Response project through which he is working to fulfill his mission to be a voice for those who are ridiculed, written off by society, and struggling to find hope.

One CEU contact hour certificate is available for $5.00.

This month’s Speaker Series will be a webinar hosted on Zoom. Attendees are welcome to join this virtual meeting at 11:45am for networking. The presentation will begin at 12pm.  Click here to register.
