PreventEd has been leading conversations on alcohol and other drugs in Eastern Missouri since 1965. We work hard to provide our community with resources, education, and research-based programs that equip people with the knowledge and skills to change their attitudes and behaviors towards substances.
Aligned with that vision, we started the PrevenTable podcast in 2021 in partnership with Hubbard Radio to reach more people and provide a platform for community voices.
Candid Conversations
PrevenTable was designed with the goal of having candid conversations about the intersection of alcohol, drugs, and mental health in everyday life. Our executive director, Nichole, sits down with thought leaders and “normal” people to talk about issues facing our communities and their own struggles with substance use. It’s not all sob stories, but it is raw. We share our vulnerabilities in hopes that it will help others who are struggling with substance use.
Many of our podcast episodes takes a broader perspective, and look at the way that substance use is both a contributor and symptom of larger systemic problems. We cover topics like food insecurity, the power of diversity in the workplace, education, and women’s issues.
Real People Telling Real Stories
Feeling alone can be one of the biggest barriers in starting the path to recovery. PrevenTable features regular people who have struggled with substance use disorder and share their stories to help others.
We talk to everyone from children to teens to adults about the issues they are facing today and how they are working to overcome challenges in their community.
